Welcome to AMERIWEST COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE distance education division. We are pleased that you have chosen AMERIWEST COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE as your source for building a new future. The following policies and information are designed to guide you through the academic process of online education.

Practical Nurse (Diploma)

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) provide basic nursing care. They work under the direction of registered nurses and doctors in various facilities. 

Registered Nurse (Associate)

Registered Nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions.

Psychology (Bachelors)

A psychology degree gives you a variety of career paths that can lead to entry-level roles in psychiatric, social, and human services.

Students attending at a distance who do not manage their distance education experience appropriately and timely will be asked to return to campus or withdraw from their studies.

The Learning Management System

AMERIWEST COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE utilizes the CANVAS system for its online course delivery. The system offers a secured online campus in which students are enrolled for courses offered in a hybrid or online format at AMERIWEST COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE. Depending on which campus you attend or which semester you are taking classes, your schedule for online courses may vary. Please see your program director or registrar for more information on your campus schedule.

  • The minimum requirements for computer technology to be utilized in terms of hardware and software are as follows: Inventory of Equipment for Distance Education The student is responsible for equipment necessary to complete the online courses. The technology requirements that is necessary to participate in an online course:
  • Screen Size: Screen Size • Monitor/display video card-I 024x768 resolution.
  • Operating Systems: Windows XP SP3 and newer • Mac OSX 10.6 and newer • Linux - chromeOS
  • Mobile OS Native App SupportiOS 5 and newer • Android 2.3 and newer
  • Computer Speed and ProcessorUse a computer 5 years old or newer when possible • IGB of RAM 14 • 2GHz processor
  • High Speed Internet
  • * Classes may require the use of Word, Excel and/or PowerPoint. Students are responsible for ensuring that they have the software required and should not enroll in course if they do not have the necessary software.
  • Internet/Email An internet service provider (ISP) • An e-mail address
  • The Division of Distance Education does not provide access to the Internet as part of its agreement. Students are responsible for having access to the internet and a professional email address. Each student enrolled at AMERIWEST COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE will need to submit their email address. Any direct communication with faculty program directors or administrators should utilize the same email address. If your email address changes, please make sure that you submit the change to the registrar.
